Every camp and homestay on NatCamp is approved by a person before a guest can book it. This page says exactly what that approval covers — and what it does not.
What we check
- A person, not a script. A member of the NatCamp team opens every listing and approves it by hand. Nothing is published automatically.
- The house rules must be complete. A listing cannot go live until its check-in and check-out times, cancellation policy, payment terms and deposit are all filled in. This is refused by the system, not merely asked for.
- Every approval is recorded. Who approved a listing, and when, is written to an audit log we cannot quietly edit.
- An unapproved listing cannot be found or booked. It does not appear in search, on the map, or to a search engine.
What it does not mean
- It is not a safety inspection. We have not tested the fire equipment, the water or the electrics.
- It is not a licence check. We ask each host what their premises holds and record their answer with the date they gave it — but we do not verify it against any register, and we do not audit it.
- It is not an insurance check.
- It is not a quality rating. That is what reviews are for, and they are written by guests who actually stayed.
- It is not a permanent guarantee. A place approved in March may have changed by December.
If a listing is not what it says
Tell us. A listing that turns out to be inaccurate is re-checked, and comes down if it fails. A verification process with no consequence is a form, not a check.
